Week 7-#16 Wikis

Once again, I feel technologically overwhelmed. There's just so much out there, and it's really too much for little old me to process. I'm just an old-fashioned kind of gal (which I know is not necessarily a good thing at all in this profession) . I love looking for stuff on the internet, don't get me wrong, but wikis, podcasts, tags, enough already!
The most important aspect of my job is sharing wonderful books with kids. So I'm not an expert at all the technology out there-to tell you the truth, I don't care. My kids love reading, they love their library time with me, and they love me, goshdarnit!!!!! If my school really wants me to create a blog or a wiki, I'll do it grudgingly, but all the time it will take me to do that, is less time for planning and implementing great literature-based activities.
I know I sound like an old stick in the mud, but actually I'm a relatively young stick in the mud. And I'm proud of it!
(the one wiki I felt would be useful to me was Library Success, a Best Practices Wiki. Lots of great information about weeding. Other than that, I think I''ll go read some books!)

Week 5 is/was hellish!

I'm going to be honest. I really don't understand how to use these programs. Nothing I do comes out right and I'm getting more and more frustrated. I'm really not a computer person, and even though the instructions are supposed to be easy, I don't get it. I made a really cute caricature ( I may have spelled that wrong), but then I couldn't figure out how to save it and send it to anyone. Most of the time I feel like banging my head on the desk, but that would only worsen the headaches I acquire after trying to work these programs.
Does anyone else even feel remotely like I do?

Technology frustrates me!

Technology and me-
Not a whole lot of compatibility.
I know there's much to do and see,
But technology is a big pain in my tushy!
The computer and I, we often disagree,
And I do miss the days when I was computer-free.
Though the internet has set me free,
This flickr stuff seems quite contrary.
But yes, somehow, I will continue the journey,
And struggle along in this confusing, stress-inducing sea....

Finally, success!

Well, it has been completely frustrating and painful, but I finally figured out how to get photos on my blog spot. I think I sort of created my own way, but that's fine. After spending hours on this b.s., I'm just glad that I can do it somehow!
